It was the first outdoor ceremony of 2018, with a slight breeze the temperature was perfect for a lakeside wedding ceremony Waldenwoods Resort.
Katie and Kevin attended Central Michigan University, her roommate was friends with Kevin and he would come over to hang out. Gradually Katie and Kevin began chatting and spending time together. While she was a bit reluctant to begin an official relationship, Kevin can remember the day, no, the moment he knew Katie would be the one.
Katie eventually warmed up to the idea of dating Kevin and on their first official date to the Dave Matthews concert (thank you Lauren for giving up your ticket) their adventure together officially began.
Kevin's emotions were evident, this was a day he had looked forward to and he could not contain his happiness and as Katie began walking down the aisle happy tears slipped down his check. I could see her look at him and smile and for a moment you could see their love...visual love, you could feel their love was strong and how meant for each other they were.
They stood hand in hand in front of me, smiling offering a word to each other here and there and I could not help but notice the ease in which they encompassed each other's space. The kind smiles that came so easily.
I tell you it was a dream working with them and being part of their wedding day.
Thank you Katie and Kevin and cheers to a life filled with shared smiles.
Planterra sets a beautiful stage to showcase your love as a couple. The greenery is abundant so no matter what the weather is outside the inside feel is fresh and full of love.
Joel and Lindsay first met in Ann Arbor and when they told me about their engagement I was awe struck, the story was good - it was a magical proposal in Colorado where Gem Lake and the mountains gave the perfect backdrop to the moment where Joel declared his love for her and stunned her into complete silence, but only for a moment because we all know she did agree to marry this wonderful man. But when they told it you could just feel the love they hold for each other and when love is palpable it just make me overjoyed because I can see their future and it is stunning!
I was so happy to share in their wedding day at Planterra Conservatory in West Bloomfield. We had a lovely wedding ceremony and it was captured perfectly by Michelle Lamarand Photography and Video by Blue Race Productions. The music by Rodney Page was top notch, as always!
It's a question I get asked for many different reasons "how long is the ceremony?"
Generally speaking most venues plan 30 minutes for the ceremony (unless your in a church with your pastor then they can often be longer).
I work within that 30 minute window. I plan for 20 minutes, this includes the time walking up and down the aisle so my speaking time is usually 17 ish minutes. I plan for a 20 minute wedding ceremony because something usually happens and we run a few minutes late. It could be those last few guests arriving, a sudden bathroom need or a lost shoe! Either way, allowing a 10 minute window helps so no one feels rushed or anxious about starting right on time.
Now, I do make every effort to start right on time so that the rest of your wedding day time line stays in tact, but rest assured you will get married and everything will fall into place even if we start a little late.
