Signing of the marriage license...in a bicycle shop with family close by!
Yes, that is exactly what this couple wanted. They enjoyed biking and knew the owner of the bicycle shop in downtown Clarkston. So, they make arrangements to use the space for a small intimate ceremony that their parents and siblings and children could witness.
The ceremony was personal, intimate and very, very sweet. The best part was it was exactly what this couple wanted!
I love being able to perform the ceremony that suites the couples needs. And sometimes that need is to simply sign the license and make it legal. So I offer the "coffee house elopement" where I meet the couple at a local coffee house or restaurant and we sit down and sign their paperwork and I ask a question or two and then - they are legally married! It's the simplest form of a "wedding" I can legally perform.
Best part is, you don't have to go to the court house, you don't have to wait a month or two (yes some court houses have a long waiting list to schedule) and you have your pick of the date and time (some court houses only offer justice of the peace services on specific dates and times).
