I've never hired a Minister before and I don't know how:
I hear this all the time. If you have never been married before the task of hiring a wedding Officiant, Minister, Justice fo the Peace can seem daunting. Let me share a few tips with you.
First you need to know that the person you hire will be the voice of your love story.
Second this person will be in a lot of photos.
Lastly, this person will in essence be "in charge" during your ceremony.
Let's dive in. Interview's are the best way to get started, save some time and start with a quick phone call. During this phone call you can get a quick sense of the person's attitude, voice and demeanor. If the call goes well then you can move straight to booking or schedule a in person meeting so you can really get into what they do and how they do it.
Have a few questions ready and be prepared to share a bit about yourselves. Here are some good questions to ask:
I, Nichole, have been performing wedding's for 10 years and have done over 1,000 wedding ceremonies. I will ask about your first date, your love story and create a custom wedding ceremony that is emailed to you prior to your wedding day and yes you can make changes or tell me what to change for you. On the day of your wedding I am there to help, I arrive early assisting you and your guests in every way possible. During the ceremony I will take charge, I will make sure you are positioned perfectly for pictures, tell you to hold hands so there's no awkward "what do we do" moments, prompt you for all the proper responses and allow you to just enjoy the moment.
During your chat's you want to see if the personality of the Officiant is something that will make you happy, that will convey happiness and romance and love on your wedding day.
Start with these few tips and you will be off to a good start to finding the perfect Wedding Officiant for you!
